Engaging students in digital media projects is a great way to teach students collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills. In a rapidly changing workplace, their long-term professional success will depend greatly on these skills. In this hands-on session participants will be introduced to effective instructional strategies designed to enhance student learning, and create vibrant environments where students feel safe to connect with one another and express their thoughts and opinions. Participants will also be introduced to El Maestro Humberto Perez’s Who Are You? Documentary Video Project, which for the last eight years has not only successfully taught students how to use digital media skills to conceptualize, create, & produce short documentary videos.
